Artika designs, builds, and distributes high quality, easy to use and on-trend home improvement products at an exceptional value.

We are seeking a CFO to join our executive team at this time of accelerated growth.  The incumbent will be responsible for providing leadership, guidance and control for all activities related to financial leadership and expertise required to drive and fund the company growth as well as activities related to operations and supply chain.

Management & Leadership

  • Participate in the elaboration of the strategic plan in collaboration with the CEO and other members of the management team;
  • Responsible for all the operations activities;
  • Direct short and long-term planning and budget development to support strategic business goals;
  • Establish the performance goals, financial, human, and operational resources for his direct reports and their teams;
  • Make monthly follow-ups to maintain a strict control over activities;
  • Contribute to the objectives of strategic growth and ensure that their implementation can increase customers and revenue, and the company remains a leader in its industry;
  • Direct and participate in growth activities to support overall business objectives and plans.

 

Finance & Accounting

  • Oversees and directs treasury, budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, and long-range forecasting for the organization;
  • Maintains and assures compliance with covenants, key ratios, and other compliance terms in accordance with financing agreements entered into by the company, reporting these results to the CEO to assist in prioritizing key tasks;
  • Takes the lead in developing, maintaining, and reporting on the annual budget and the financial aspects of operating and strategic plans;
  • Maintains [3-5] year forward looking financial projections and funding plan across a range of micro and macro scenarios and makes strategic recommendations to the CEO on this basis;
  • Is responsible for the company’s risk exposure, including hedging exposure to exchange rates;
  • Directs the Corporate Controller in providing and directing procedures and computer application systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and services;
  • Directs the treasury activities: custodian of funds, securities, and assets of the organization;
  • Coordinates tax reporting programs;
  • Manages the preparation of audited financial reports working with external auditors;
  • Evaluates and recommends business partnering opportunities, including but not limited to, mergers, acquisitions, and strategic alliances;

 

Operations

  • Defines the mandate of the Logistics and Supply Chain Director and set operational goals for the short and long-term business, as well as policies and procedures;
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvement, see to their implementation and monitor the progress and advancement of initiatives;
  • Oversee internal and external processes of the company, complete timely and accurate reports on operating conditions;
  • Direct company operations to meet budget and other financial goals;
  • Manage monthly performance reviews of key metrics, to be presented and evaluated by each team monthly.

Qualifications

  • Five to fifteen years in an accounting/finance position;
  • Previous financial leadership role in a mid to large size organization;
  • Experience with a mid-sized, high-growth company is a plus;
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strong relationships with stockholders, financial institutions, and the investment community;
  • Experience in raising equity is a plus;
  • Experience implementing financial systems and overseeing cost accounting;
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills with strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to understand/write English.  French is a plus but not required;
  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA/CMA is desired.
